Chocolate PB Rice Crispie squares

Maybe it’ s the weather, but I’ve been into quick and crunchy snacks these dreary wet days. I want to whip up something and much great big hunks of it while I contemplate the inevitability of Spring.

These are probably better set… but I just can’t seem to wait. Warm and sticky will do!

you’ll need:
6 c. rice crispies
3/4 c brown rice syrup
1 c. sucanat
1/4 – 1/2 c. Cocoa
1 Tbsp. Molasses
1/4 c. Maple Syrup
1 1/2 c. Peanut butter
1 Tsp. Vanilla
A pinch or two of sea salt

Set rice cripsies aside in a large bowl.
In a sauce pan combine the syrups, salt, cocoa, and sugar. Bring to a simmer. Add PB and vanilla. Mix well and remove from heat. Pour mixture over crispies and mix quickly.
Turn in onto a greased cake pan and press flat.

Go ahead and garnish with chocolate chips, hemp hearts, peanuts and melted chocolate… or let firm up on the counter as it is… or diginto the sweet sticky, chewy mess!
