Chocolate PB Rice Crispie squares

Maybe it’ s the weather, but I’ve been into quick and crunchy snacks these dreary wet days. I want to whip up something and much¬†great big hunks of it while I contemplate the inevitability of Spring.

These are probably better set… but I just can’t seem to wait. Warm and sticky will do!

you’ll need:
6 c. rice crispies
3/4 c brown rice syrup
1 c. sucanat
1/4 – 1/2 c. Cocoa
1 Tbsp. Molasses
1/4 c. Maple Syrup
1 1/2 c. Peanut butter
1 Tsp. Vanilla
A pinch or two of sea salt

Set rice cripsies aside in a large bowl.
In a sauce pan combine the syrups, salt, cocoa, and sugar. Bring to a simmer. Add PB and vanilla. Mix well and remove from heat. Pour mixture over crispies and mix quickly.
Turn in onto a greased cake pan and press flat.

Go ahead and garnish with¬†chocolate chips, hemp hearts, peanuts and melted chocolate… or let firm up on the counter as it is… or diginto the sweet sticky, chewy mess!
